Marathon Baseball to Host First Sectional Game since 2019

#7 Marathon is set to host #10 Newfield tomorrow, May 20, in the first round of the Section IV Class C tournament. This will be the first home sectional game the Olympians will host since 2019.

Marathon has won both games against Newfield in the regular season, 7-4 and 7-5.

They are prepared for a good game, according to head coach Bryan Hoyt, who spoke to the Cortland Standard earlier this week, "We expect the challenge, but at the same time, we know we can do it if we play the game the right way and do what we need to do."

Marathon made huge improvements from the last few seasons to finish their year with a record of 10-6.

The winner of Wednesday's game will play #2 Deposit-Hancock on Friday, May 22.
