Marathon Businesses Thrive with New Investment and Seasonal Markets

Marathon's business landscape is experiencing a significant boost this spring, with new development projects announced and beloved seasonal markets bringing fresh produce and handcrafted goods to the community.

Alongside the exciting NY Forward grant projects, Marathon's vibrant seasonal markets are in full swing. The Marathon Farmers' Market, a local favorite, opened for the season on May 9, 2026. It welcomes shoppers every Saturday from 9 AM to 12 PM on the Village Green, offering a wide array of local products. Visitors can find fresh meats, farm eggs, homemade breads, seasonal flowers, and a variety of handcrafted goods from local vendors. In the event of inclement weather, the market conveniently moves indoors to the Civic Center, ensuring a consistent opportunity to support local producers.

Further contributing to the local agricultural economy, Myers Family Farm, operating as Gabriella's Farm to Fork, is preparing for its Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program. Set to begin the first week of July 2026, the program will run for 12 consecutive weeks, providing subscribers with fresh, responsibly grown produce, cooking herbs, and edible flowers. While full shares and salad greens shares are currently sold out, half shares remain available for those interested in enjoying a consistent supply of local harvest throughout the summer months.

These ongoing efforts, from significant state-funded projects to the continued success of local markets and farms, underscore a dynamic period of growth and community engagement for Marathon's businesses as we move through spring and into summer.
