Marathon Celebrates Class of 2026 Top 20% and Dedicates Yearbook

In a ceremony in the Auditorium at the Marathon High School this morning, the top 20% of seniors were recognized for their achievements. Alongside them, the yearbook was dedicated to retiring teacher Diane Brown.

Marathon Celebrates Class of 2026 Top 20% and Dedicates Yearbook

In a ceremony in the Auditorium at the Marathon High School this morning, the top 20% of seniors were recognized for their achievements. Alongside them, the yearbook was dedicated to retiring teacher Diane Brown.

Mrs. Brown has been a history teacher, class advisor, and mentor at MCS for 34 years. She has taught many students at Marathon, molding minds and shaping futures. She will certainly be missed in the halls of the high school, and we wish her a happy retirement!

Here is the top 20% of the Class of 2026:

Valedictorian: Alina Parker (102.257) - She will be headed to Liberty University in Virginia to study Biochemistry & Molecular Biology. In her time at Marathon, Alina earned her Associate's degree through TC3, and was part of Golf, Basketball, Field Hockey, and the National Honor Society. She is also our reigning Maple Queen.

Salutatorian: Nash Coleman (100.091) - He will be studying Food Systems with a focus in Fermentation Science at SUNY Cobleskill next fall. At Marathon, Nash earned 37 college credits and was part of the Student Council, Band, Soccer, Baseball, Basketball, and National Honor Society.

3: Tucker Trabucco (99.329) - He will be headed to Alfred State College to major in Architectural Technology. While at Marathon, Tucker completed 44 college credits, was captain of the Baseball, Soccer, and Esports teams, and was part of the Basketball team and the National Honor Society.

4: Daniel Merihew (98.342) - He will be studying Strength and Conditioning for human performance at SUNY Cortland next year. In his time at Marathon, Daniel earned his Associate's degree through TC3, and was part of Soccer, Basketball, Baseball, and the National Honor Society.

5: Faith Baker (98.214) - She will be going to Cornell School of Agriculture Science to major in Animal Science on a pre-vet track. At Marathon, Faith earned her Associate's degree through TC3, and was part of Basketball, FFA, and National Honor Society.

6: Elizabeth VanCise (97.972) - She will be studying Nursing at SUNY Delhi in the fall. While at Marathon, Liz earned her Associate's degree through TC3, and was part of Field Hockey, Golf, Basketball, and the National Honor Society.

7: Camdyn Kashuba (96.931) - He will be headed to SUNY Cortland, majoring in Exercise Science as part of the 3 + 3 program with SUNY Upstate. At Marathon, Cam earned his Associate's degree through TC3, and was part of Baseball, Basketball, and the National Honor Society.

8: Abigail Trabucco (96.464) - She will be studying in the Honors program for Nursing at Nazareth University next year. In her time at Marathon, Abby earned her Associate's degree through TC3, was awarded the IAC sportsmanship award twice, and was part of Cross Country, Indoor Track, Outdoor Track, Student Council, Book Club, and the National Honor Society.

9: Blake Birdsall (94.981) - He will be going to SUNY Oneonta, majoring in Biology on the pre-PT track as part of the 3 + 3 program with SUNY Upstate. While at Marathon, Blake earned 52 college credits and was part of Band, Student Council, Cross Country, Basketball, Baseball, and the National Honor Society.

10: Savanna Warfield (94.654) - She will be headed to Nazareth University to study Digital Marketing and Business. At Marathon, Savanna earned 49 college credits and was part of FFA, Field Hockey, Basketball, Golf, and the National Honor Society.

11: Matthew Washbourne (94.052) - He will be majoring in Mechanical Engineering at Clarkson in the fall. In his time at Marathon, Matt earned 40 college credits and was part of Indoor Track, Soccer, and the National Honor Society.

12: Barrett Trabucco (93.975) - He will be joining his brother at Alfred State, studying auto tech next year. While at Marathon, Barrett earned 13 college credits and was part of band, Skills USA, Basketball, Soccer, Baseball, and the National Honor Society.

Congratulations to these students!

Graduation will be at 2:00 PM at the High School on June 24th.
