Marathon Golf Team's Annual Tournament Postponed

The Marathon Golf team’s annual fundraising tournament at Maple Hill Golf Club has been postponed. The tournament was originally planned for June 20th, and has been tentatively moved to October 3rd. 

The tournament is an event many in our community look forward to at the start of each summer. The reason for the postponement is the current uncertainty surrounding the future of the golf programs at Marathon High School. Golf is one of the sports set to be cut by the Superintendent under next year’s budget. 

Girls Varsity Golf won the IAC Championship just this past week, highlighting the success of this program. 

Boys Varsity Golf will compete at the IAC tournament on Tuesday, May 26. 

This program has over 20 students in grades 7-12.
