Peck Memorial Library Secures 1 Million in State Funding for Historic Opera Hall Restoration

The Peck Memorial Library in Marathon has received substantial state support for an ambitious restoration project that will breathe new life into its historic opera hall. The $1 million grant from the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) Capital Projects Fund was announced as part of Senator Lea Webb's $1.5 million in cultural funding for Senate District 52.

The ambitious project represents a transformative opportunity for the Cortland County institution, which has long served as a cultural anchor in the rural Southern Tier community.

The restored Opera Hall will become a fully accessible, climate-controlled venue designed to serve the library and the surrounding community for generations to come.
